'virtual souvenirs'

'virtual souvenirs', commissioned by edhv was a collaborative project between 23 designers
who each created prototypes of souvenirs based on the historical icons of eindhoven, netherlands.
the exhibition hosted at designhuis showcased all 23 prototypes and used augmented reality
technology, allowing people to experience the souvenirs virtually.

augmented reality technology

two augmented reality interfaces were developed for the exhibition, one for the website
and the other for the live event. the software used to create the interface for the event
was based on the open-source ARToolKit class. meanwhile, FLARToolKit class was
employed for the website interface. 23 unique barcodes were assigned for the 23 icons
of eindhoven. depending on the selected barcode, the correct 3D model and information
was shown to the user.

travel patterns of house crickets

'debug posters' is a series of designs by edhv that visually depicts the movements of insects.
the data is transferred using computer sensors which track the traveling patterns of these creatures.
each of the 300 posters are unique, as some of them visualize the movements of woodlice while
others depict the paths made by house crickets.

edhv will present their 'debug posters' as part of the dutch invertuals exhibition between
april 14-19 during milan design week 2010. dutch invertuals is a multdisciplinary collective
of design academy graduates showcasing work that experiments with unconventional
applications of familiar materials.

'wordigami'

at milan design week 2009, edhv presented 'wordigami' as part of the dutch invertuals
exhibition. this combination of typography and origami tiling was the start of a series
of experimental posters. they carried two messages that were silkscreen printed on the
folded and the unfolded surface. by folding or unfolding, the content of the poster is
revealed.
